Every Lake gravel shoe uses 2-bolt SPD-compatible cleats and features carbon fibre soles with real rubber tread — the stiffness of a road shoe with the walkability of an MTB shoe. Whether you're racing an ultra-gravel event, bikepacking across Europe, or exploring new routes on mixed terrain, your feet won't be the limiting factor.
Our gravel range features the same anatomical fit and wide-sizing options that Lake is known for. Most models come in Regular and Wide, and several offer Narrow as well.

What Makes Gravel Shoes Different from MTB Shoes?
Both use 2-bolt SPD cleats, but gravel shoes are designed for a different balance of priorities. Gravel shoes use lighter rubber tread coverage for less weight and more flexibility, while MTB shoes use full rubber coverage for maximum grip on technical terrain. Gravel shoes are lighter with a lower, sleeker profile — great for mixed terrain, long road sections, and bikepacking. MTB shoes are heavier with more protection — built for trails, technical terrain, and hike-a-bike.
If most of your riding is tarmac with gravel sectors, a gravel shoe is the better choice. If you frequently hike or ride technical singletrack, go with our MTB range.
