The service from Lake was fantastic and the shoes arrived quickly and well packaged. The refund for the sizes that didn't fit was also processed quickly, so 5 stars for Lake.

The CX201 shoes, on the other hand, have not met my specific need. I have been struggling with numb toes, possibly due to my very wide feet (12 cm for a UK44 normal shoe). I had hoped that these would help with the numbness - and, to be fair, the shoes are super comfy and fit like slippers (so much so that I'm tempted to wear them in bed). But, they are really not at all good for standing up in on the pedals as there is too much flex in the top material, which means my feet move around too much. Added to this is the hardest sole I have ever encoutered (even with an insole) - there is absolutely no flex in the carbon sole, which I'm sure if fantastic for power transfer, but is super hard on the feet (and also not that comfy in the bed I've discovered). I can feel the sole right through the insole so that I now have both numb toes and sore feet. They might be ok for any cyclists who refuse to stand up in the pedals at all costs, or perhaps for stomping on another cyclists foot, but they simply haven't worked well for me, either on the bike or in the bed.

Amazing comfort, fits my square shaped foot perfectly and plenty of volume in the toe box to stop my big toe from getting squashed. The soft upper and squared off front is a game changer. We don't all have missile shaped feet 😜

Love the shape. Similar to my barefoot shoes I. Term of toe box size. What lets them down is only having one Boa which makes it impossible to get the right fit.

These are such great shoes & I wish I’d bought them ages ago! I’ve had Morton’s Neuroma & found I could cycle for more than 75 mins before getting pain in my left foot despite having wide fit shoes.

These feel so soft on the upper & have so much toe room that I managed to fit in an extra softer insole into that shoe for more cushioning. No pain was lively on a 2 hour ride.

I settled on these after following Lake's foot measurement guidance and matching the results against their charts. These are a great choice. They look noticeably wider (obvs!) than other shoes, but I wanted a good fit over aesthetics. The mesh upper means they most likely will not be good in the winter, but I bought them for their excellent summer ventilation. They are very comfortable and appear to be very well made. The cleat placement is perfect for me, and as it is moveable for and aft by about 5mm (I guess), it is easy to get a good position.
